Engineered with custom microstructure controls to maximize service life and eliminate mechanical edge failure.
Modern manufacturing runs on high efficiency, circular economies, and continuous processing loops. At the center of waste reclamation, materials reprocessing, and high-performance manufacturing sits the industrial blade shredder. Whether cutting through steel coils, slicing complex polymer webs, or shredding end-of-life electronics, the durability of your blade directly dictates your operating margins.
Across the globe, industrial procurement departments are facing a major challenge: balancing blade cost against down-time losses. Replacing worn tool steels (like D2 or M2) with custom, micro-grain tungsten carbide (WC) components increases run times up to 10-fold. This shift is reshaping international sourcing, directing procurement managers toward certified, vertically-integrated manufacturers in China capable of handling everything from RTP (Ready-To-Press) powder preparation to high-precision finishing under ISO9001 guidelines.

| Blade Material Grade | Hardness Range (HRA/HRC) | Transverse Rupture Strength (TRS) | Primary Industrial Application | Key Durability Advantage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WC-Co Cemented Carbide | 89.5 - 92.5 HRA | 2800 - 4000 N/mm² | Li-Ion Battery Electrodes, Film Razors, Metal Shearing | Extreme wear resistance, maintains mirror edge without micro-notches. |
| TiCN-Based Cermet | 91.0 - 93.5 HRA | 1800 - 2400 N/mm² | Steel Machining, Semi-Finish Foil Cutting | Very low affinity to ferrous metals, prevents material sticking/welding. |
| Standard D2 Tool Steel | 58 - 62 HRC | N/A (Sufficient Toughness) | Rough Wood & Massive Scrap Shredding | High impact strength; however, requires frequent re-grinding due to fast wear. |
| PVD-Coated Carbide | Micro-surface enhanced | 3000+ N/mm² | High-Speed Corrugated Slitting & Scoring | Low-friction coefficient, highly extended life in abrasive board processing. |
Established in 1998 and nestled in Chengdu, Sichuan, Shen Gong operates as a national high-tech enterprise dedicated to research, manufacturing, and supply chain excellence. Over more than 20 years, we have scaled our production to offer complete vertically integrated manufacturing loops.
The Integrated Process Loop:
We process directly from RTP (Ready-To-Press) powder to completed finished products, ensuring consistent mechanical characteristics batch after batch.
By remaining completely independent from third-party raw processors, our plant maintains exceptional agility. We offer high-precision, customized profiles while absorbing raw material supply shocks. This capability provides international buyers with reliable shipping dates and consistent quality standards, even amid changing market conditions.
Beyond the blade: offering technical support and value-driven services across the industrial lifecycle.
Manufacturing in accordance with strict ISO systems to guarantee batch uniformity. Simply provide physical samples or CAD files; we handle the rest.
Learn MoreRooted in knives, yet far beyond. Shen Gong's R&D engineering division designs specialized solutions to solve difficult cutting problems.
Learn MoreWhether examining micro-notching or premature edge collapse, we deliver empirical data using electron microscopy and metallurgical testing.

Tungsten Carbide offers much higher hardness (up to 92 HRA) and wear resistance compared to tool steel. HSS blades blunt quickly under contact with abrasive plastics or particulate debris, leading to increased power draw and frequent maintenance shut-downs. Micro-grain carbide blades keep their cutting geometry longer, reducing total operating costs.
Our manufacturing features zero-notch edge finishes. Using automated ultra-precision grinding systems, we achieve smooth, mirror-polished bevels. Micrograin powder and strict HIP (Hot Isostatic Pressing) sintering eliminate micro-voids, preventing electrode materials from adhering to the blade tip.
Yes. We design and grind customized tool shapes, including custom corrugated scoring designs, slotted patterns, and circular slitters. Simply upload your CAD files or send us a physical sample; our metallurgical team will evaluate and manufacture the exact product you need.
Cermets use a TiCN base rather than tungsten carbide. This chemistry offers very low chemical affinity with ferrous metals, preventing material transfer when machining or slitting steel, which yields highly polished metal edges.
Premium slitting, dicing, and scoring tools engineered for continuous modern assembly lines.
